Jamie Oliver under the eye of a keen critic...
Watching Food Revolution was quite an experience for me that was enriched with constant back and forth emotions about the fast food business of todays world. At first, and throughout manely the entire film I criticized Jamie and his viewpoints on fast food and how it should be changed. There was no way in my mind that he himself could totally change the fast food nation we live in today. It is so intertwined into our society and culture as Americans that people would surely cause an uproar if fast food was eliminated. As the show went on I began to switch my liking to Jamie because of all of the valid points he was making about how we need to make a change in the way we eat and what we feed our youth. Even though the food board rejected Jamie's ideas and concepts he stayed persistant in his thoughts and feelings because he was determind to make a difference. In the end, Dino falls into Jamie's ideas and ends up transforming his resturante into a healthier place to eat.

Research Interest: Climate Change
I have been looking into a very broad research topic having to do with climate change. I feel like this issue is on the rise and is becoming more and more of a world wide issue. I believe that this is a great topic for me to tackle because it is something i feel strongly about and have some strong opinions about. In todays world, the media controls everything and therefore it is tough to find out what facts about global climate change are true. I look forward to digging deep and seeking out the facts about this growing issue.

The Social Network of........blogger shmogger toggler toddler logger mogger zogger taaaa
In the movie The Social Network, there are many ways that the content can be critically analized. The two ways I will look at the movie are from a philisophical point of view and from a marxist point of view.
A philosophical statement about The Social Network is even the most intelligent people make big mistakes. Mark Zuckerburg made a couple big mistakes throughout the movie. In the beginning he was very arrogant towards his girlfriend which caused her to break up with him. This then pushed him past his limits to blog and create a program comparing the "hotness" of girls attending Harvard University. This turned many people against him. Secondly, when Mark made the facebook site and it began to blow up in popularity and publicity, he gave a good portion of the company shares to his best friend who pitched in a lot of money to make the operation possible. Towards the end, Mark took almost all of the credit away from his best friend and reduced his stock holding in the company to .o3 percent just because more buyers wanted stock in the company. This was a real sign of betrayal seeing how much his best friend contributed to the creation of the site. Mark Zuckerburn is a very very intelligent person. Although even though he is very intelligent, he does make big mistakes like everyone else.
A marxist look at the movie The Social Network is that true hard work and dedication pays off. This is exactly what happened to Mark Zuckerburg and his best friend when they discovered the possibilites of their new breakthrough social internet site. They traveled all around the United States and to different businesses and campuses in hopes of promoting and gaining new members to their site. A large ammount of cash was injected into the operation as well to make it succeed. Mark kept getting great new ideas for the program that made it more and more popular amoung people's social lives. Seeing that Mark is the youngest billionaire in todays world, the statement hard work pays off is a great marxist point of view of the movie.

OOOOOOOODE to HOUSE blogger nogger flogger frogger pogger shmogger chea
The overall message of this episode of House is that you cannot just trust one person's judgement. In this episode, all of the specialized doctors think they know what is wrong with the woman who had a seizure. They all have different opinions so therefore they all try to test their ideas on the patient. It is not until Dr. House talks to other patients and doctors that he discovers that the patient really doesnt have a tumor in her brain. She just has a tape worm in her brain which could be treated by just taking a medication for a couple weeks. They were going to stop giving her medication and treatment because they believed her condition to be malignant. If it werent for their communication and syncronization with eachother, the patient might not have been saved.

Blogger nogger slobber hogger fogger mogger togger... yea... #5
In the film Ferris Beuller, the life of a high school pranskter class clown is portrayed through the character Ferris Beuller. He decides to take a day off from school which is what he is notorious for. His principal tries to catch him in the act in every way he can but Beuller's counteractions and phony phone calls deflect the principal of the high school away. Ferris is able to take his friend's dad's car and both his best friend, and girlfriend to the city for a day of play. In the end, he never gets caught and he still has the same likeable/adorable reputation.
In the film, Ferris uses his best friend Cameron to his advantage to have a fun day off from school. He forces Cameron to come over and make a phony phone call to the Principal of the high school even when Cameron is home sick. He then uses Cameron to snag the Farrari that belongs to Cameron's dad. Pretty much everything Ferris does is a direct product of using his best friend.
The connection I made to the film had to do with the movie The Lion King. In this movie, Scar uses the hyeenas to do his dirty work and intimidate Simba, Nala, and Zaaaaaazuuuu. For whatever Scar does that is bad, he blames the hyeenas for the damage. In Ferris beuller, Ferris uses Cameron to take the blame for the eventual wrecking of the Ferrari.
This connection effects the reader by making it seem like it is "cool" or "okaaaaay" to use other's to your own advantage. The humor and highschool life that we as students relate to almost 100 percent makes this aspect more of a normal influence. The "cool" factor really comes into play in both films.

Mah Post Tres
I read the story "How to Build a Fire." A moral/philisophical statement that i extracted from this story is dont ever just do things to get the easy way out just because they take less time. This route is a high risk one where things wont be "measured twice and cut one." bad things may happen when you rush through something without doing checks and balances. In the story "How to Build a Fire," the adventurer decides to make a fire under a snow covered tree limb because he thought it would keep the fire from going out in the snow. The snow melted and fell off of the tree limb and put out the fire. This is an example of not thinking through the situation and all of the possible outcomes. Therefore, always "measure twice, and cut once."
Mah Moral Statement (post dos)
A moral statement that applies to me significantly is always strive to do your best and never give up. Finish what you have started. This statement applies to me because work ethic is extremely important when going through life and it is a major part that contributes to the success of an individual in whatever he may be striving to accomplish. Whenever I begin something, I always reach out on a limb to finish is no matter how crazy they costs are.
There was one time I specifically remember where I learned a usefull lesson. This was when I was snowboarding in Colorado at the age of ten. I didnt wear a helmet because I thought I was invinsible at this young gun age. I also took a lot for granted like my physical condition and health. I ended up hurting myself pretty bad and from that point up to present I always wear a helmet and take great precausion while doing gnarley menouvers. :):)
